Things We've Been Doing

A few weeks ago, Jacob attended his first friend birthday party. It was at Chucky Cheese and he had a great time. There were 4 boys from his nursery class and it was so cute to see all of them playing. Jacob loved the cars there because he could "drive them." Andrew, the birthday boy, and Jacob driving.

Not so sure about the 4 wheeling car they had. Holding on!

We also went to the Living Planet Aquarium. Right now Jacob does not seem to care much about the fish, but he loved the "boat" and frog they had for him to explore.

Speaking of driving...Jacob has a car that he likes to drive and he likes to drive with one of his "driving" hat on. Funny thing is he does not like hats, UNLESS, he is driving. Here I am saying to him, "How big is Jacob?" If I don't distract him, when he sees the camera, he gets off of whatever he is doing and comes over to look at the pictures. Thus we have a lot of pictures of him coming towards us. This at least kept him on the car.

I Love You

Jacob says about everything in the book (cucumber, tray, broccoli, hammer, home, car, truck, thermometer...)and we understand what he says and what he wants about 99.5% of the time.

I say "I love you" all the time to him, but he has never repeated it back to me. I haven't doubted that he loves me (he does love to come up to us and say "cuddle, cuddle"--I LOVE cuddling with him), but today he said it!

I had gotten him out of his chair, after the mid-afternoon snack, and I was wiping it down. I said to him "I love you" to which he repeated "I love you."

So fun to hear!!

Just a Thought...

....snow and cold weather make January seem like a very long month. I am ready for 75 degrees!! I think we need a winter home in Arizona...maybe something like this: And a pilot's license for Jason so he could still get to work (Florida and Hawaii are too long a commute)....to support the winter home. You are all welcome to come and visit. ;)

That is Why I Married Him

Jason read yesterday's post and this morning went out and vacuumed the car. He said, "Your single self can now be happy again--I vacuumed the car for you."

Gotta LOVE that!

Is This Really My Child and My Car??

Dinner time over the past week has changed. Previously Jacob sat in his high chair and calmly ate what we fed him. When he was done, he said, "Done." We washed him off and that was that.

Now days, he likes to eat dinner at the table with us (with a place mat and everything). This is OK because recently, in his high chair, he decides he is done and instead of saying something he does this: He just climbs out.

Eating with us at the table is fine, but I do miss how the high chair tray tends to catch a bit more of the crumbs than the table does.

This is how he looks after some meals. Don't be alarmed, he is not bleeding--this is his version of eating toast with jam on it.

Then there is the car. I swore as a single person that my car would never be crummy (or if it was, for no longer than a day). We have been home a week from our trip and this is still the floor of the back seat. In fact, yesterday when we were driving around, Jacob held up a raisin he found in his car seat, said, "Raisin" and threw it in his mouth. Poor kid! I could be out vacuuming it right now rather than doing my blog, but this is warmer and more interesting. :)

Shoveling Snow With Dad

On Saturday I came home from our Primary activity to find my boys hard at work.

New Year's Day

New Year's day we spent with Jason's family. They came over in the afternoon for food and games. Jacob got a train that his Grandpa had made for him. He also opened a pillow case that his Aunt Jenny had made for him.

He was much happier than he looks here...having a hard time getting him to smile sometimes. :)

Here he is enjoying a chip with "sauce" (dip) as he calls it.
