May

May is here!  The weather began to warm up and then BAM!  It snowed again. It has snowed a lot this year...and in spring rain.  This is good, but it is nice to see the warmer weather again.  This week (May 5) we've gotten rain again, but when the sun shines again it makes everything look so green and fresh!!

I watch Studio 5. They did another live taping this year at the Hale Center Theater.  They taped on the stage of Steel Magnolias.  Fun to see again.
Hannah wanted to get together so she could practice her cake decorating skills.  We decided to combine it with family birthdays.

 School film festival!

We'll be sad to not be with these friends next year.  But we plan to keep in touch.  I hope we can!!

I like some Indian foods.  I tried making chicken tiki masala with naan and it worked!  Jacob got up the next day asking what was for dinner.  I told him leftovers.  He said, I was hoping it would be leftovers.  :)

Jacob is a Boy Scout now and one of his badges, Environmental Science, required finding out about pollination.  Our friends have a cousin who has some beehives so we went to his home in Alpine and he told us about it.  I thought it was really interesting.

Getting some honey.

For Mother's Day we had Jason's family over.

Draper Elementary has an art teacher full time and the kids do some great work...that ties in with science. Here is Jacob's bell.

Perspective drawings.

Using plastic bags with wet shoes

Headed off to a very muddy, cold camp out.
But he had fun!

Our back fence is falling apart.  Jason and I were working on putting up some new cross boards.  I didn't pull my hair back and it got caught in the drill motor.
5th grade took a field trip to the State Capitol.  Here is Philo T. Farnsworth.

The pillars here are 26,000 lbs.

One of my former colleges retired.  It was so fun to go and see everyone!

Was able to see Dean Swensen.  I taught his son my very first year also.
