October

October began with General Conference.  As usual it was good.  On Sunday Jason's family came over for lunch and the afternoon session.

MarySue was getting a lot out of the talk
we were listening to.  :)

Karen brought somethings to keep
the kids interested.

Getting ready to go

The following weekend we headed down to Richfield for Jacob's last bike race.  It was held at a motor bike park.  At the end of the 11 miles they rode down into this jump bowl before heading to the finish line.
This guy is the announcer to start the race.
Coming in strong to the finish line

Itai Andes' dad took this picture along the race route.  I love it!
It was a good and fun season!  We all learned a lot and Jacob
worked hard going to practices and riding the races.

My college roommate, Inez....her dad passed away.
I was heading to the funeral down in Fairview
and Bridger called to see if Jacob could come hang
out that Saturday morning.  I worked out that I could
drop Jacob off in American Fork, go tot he funeral
and then come back to get Jacob.  He had a good
time and it was great for me to see Inez.

Annie van Alstyne, who used to live in our ward, works for Odyssey Dance Theater and got me 2 tickets to see Thriller.  It is the last year they are performing.  I took Teresa Hatch and had a fun time.  The dancers are amazing with all they can do!

Middle of October Roy and Vina came to visit.  They arrived on Saturday night, Sunday we went over to Jared and Stephanie's in the afternoon for dinner and Monday night we were at Randy's for dinner and did caramel apples.  It was so fun to see them!

Looking our very best!  ;)

Fall break we went with Elias' grandma to Thanksgiving Point--the Discovery Museum.

Playing outside and hanging around like a sloth

The most fun the boys had was in the water section.  Trying to figure out which hose would divert the water which way, and how the turn off different taps to make the water go where they wanted it to go.

October 22

Most of October was beautiful and 75 degrees.  Once the 100 degree heat of summer calmed down in September, my tomatoes started to grow.
During fall break was cleaned up the backyard--put away patio furniture, the lawnmower etc.  It was going to freeze so I pulled out all of the tomatoes and put them on the window sill in my living room. to ripen....and they did!  Within 2 weeks I had a lot of tomatoes.

End of October was the Alta Bike Team dinner.  They held it at the school and I was on the food committee.  We had Hawaiian BBQ and it was good.
The kids all got raffle tickets to win prizes after dinner.  They had money, gift cards to Scheels, bike tune ups.  At the end they presented the kids with this poster.  It is a cool poster!

Jacob had Elias over on a Friday night to play and hang out while Jason and I went to dinner with the Kenners.

Monday, Halloween night, Jacob went over to Jaxon's to hang out.  Their days of trick-or-treating are over.
