May

May has gone pretty quickly.  It began with my breakfast with the Julies and Teresa.  We have gotten together like this for over 10 years.  So much has happened in each other's lives!  Kids, marriages, etc.  I'm glad we still get together.

Jacob decided to join the Alta Mountain Biking team this year.  May has had some Thursday night bike checks and a short ride.

In June they will move to Tuesday morning (6 a.m.) and Thursday evening (6:30 p.m.) rides, with a few Saturdays.  Some days he doubts his choice to do this, but I hope he likes it.  He and Jason went out and picked up a few things he needed.
One of the Young Men activities this month was going to play paint ball.  Here is Jacob after that event.  He said they had a fun time.

In prepping for the bike team Jacob has taken a few rides with Jason.  Here you can see, what Jason calls, his blood sacrifice to the bike gods.  But I reminded him that he already made that sacrifice a few year ago on the pump track.  😦

Aftermath

Kind of banged up
On to Mother's Day.  We had a lovely breakfast of Swedish pancakes, made by Jacob (I helped a bit).  I love strawberries and whipped cream on them!!

One of the gifts I requested was that Jacob let me comb his hair without him complaining about it!  😃

I also got a drip hose to water the trees
during our magnificent drought!

The following weekend it was Juliann's wedding!  It was a fun day!!  She married Koleton Miller in the Payson temple.

They were married at 1:45, we took pictures and then they had a wedding dinner in Mapleton, right by where David and Heidi live, at 4:30.  Directly afterwards they had the reception.  It was a lovely day and she was so happy!

Saturday I went down to Mom's to visit with Chris while he was here.

The next day, Sunday, we went down to Daniel's farewell talk in Sacrament meeting.  Here is Daniel and Jacob.  In 2 years Jacob will be ending his sophomore year in high school!
On Monday I went back down to Mom's to visit with everyone.  Here is a picture of mom with most of her great grandchildren.  Christian and Hannah are missing.  The parents are happy, but the kids look ho-hum about it.  😄

We had some beautiful weather for
walking days in May.  Here are Marcia
and I admiring Fay Klingler's flowers.

Another YM activity was to hike to the Salt Lake overlook.

Harrison & Charles Halterman, Wade Roper, Caleb Watson,
Max Sollis, Jacob, & Avery Roper

We also went to Abby's mission farewell the
after Daniel's, but I got no pictures.  They both
started the home MTC on Monday, May 23rd and
are in the same district!
Abby is going to Newport, CA and Daniel to
Edmonton, Canada...both speaking Mandarin

We went to the park and played games with Cathey's one night.

Lagoon Day for 8th grade.  Jacob and Itai hung out
together and had fun.

I thought it would be fun to see a play at
Hale Center theater.  The first full day of
summer!
For Memorial Day we went to Mom's for a BBQ.
Here is Jacob showing Tanner the finer aspects
of video games.

Such great pictures!  😕

May 31st.  Walking with Sherrie.  37 degrees!
