What Should We Do Today? How About a Haircut and Clogged Arteries

This is what we did this morning. Both of them. At first, my only intention was to go and get Jacob's haircut and I had a coupon from Sport Clips. We headed over and after a 15 minutes inside this male salon we were clipped and looking dapper....at least Jacob was. What to do next.

Lately I have been watching on the Travel channel. He has had some tasty looking food--especially places like 5 Guys that serve french fries on their sandwiches. So today, when 5 Guys was right next door, and it was 11 a.m., I couldn't resist.

Normally I do resist...for various reasons: 1. I had Jacob with me. Up until today he has had probably 5 french fries in 2 years. We have eaten out and he eats with us, but I try to not give him too much or too many of the stuff we end up craving. But today I probably clogged his arteries. 2. It is generally pretty expensive. Jason is going to laugh at that comment, because he is cheaper than I am, but at $4.00 a burger, that is too much for me to pay for a 2 year old. Which leads me to 3. Most of the time it looks better than it tastes. Today was no exception. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. I split the burger with Jacob (because of reason #2) and we had fries with fry sauce. He seemed to love it. $6.57 later I was thinking that a burger and fries off of the $1 menu at McDonalds would have done the job (I also think McDonalds has the best fries!). Jacob did have fun. When an order was taken up front the staff would yell according to whatever had been ordered. He thought that was funny and giggled, saying, "Funny" every time they did it. Watching him was most fun of all.

Home Made Olympic Medals

I had best intentions of blogging more this month, but the first 2 weeks were spent with Jacob and me being sick and I just felt no inspiration. I also realized that I have hardly taken any pictures of Jacob lately...but yesterday his Dad was feeding him a snack...."Ladies and Gentlemen, he dangles the cheese...look at this form...
He reaches and he has it!" Maybe this could be a new Olympic sport and call it "The Father/Son Snack Hand Off. This is bronze medal material!

Then he decided to clean the floor a little bit. We don't encourage working on Sunday, but we may turn a blind eye if he really wants to help out. This deserves a silver medal! (It could have qualified for gold, but since it was Sunday and we shouldn't encourage it--he has to settle for silver. Better luck on Monday Jacob!! I bet you could take gold then!)
But this is what gold medals are made of...melts the judges hearts!!

What is Wrong with this Picture?

Not sure??? Note: The milk is out of the refrigerator and not in it. Last week we were all sick around here. Colds. I felt functional, but achy and blah. Had to go to the store for milk. Did it, came home, took Jacob out of the car, went about my business...only to discover (the following morning) that we were out of milk and the new milk was still sitting in the back seat of the car!!

Funny thing is, this is the SECOND milk causality within 2 weeks. A couple of weeks ago I had bought milk, put it in the very back of the car and when I opened the door, the milk had shifted and felt out onto the garage floor. Luckily I could save half of it and luckily it spilled on the garage floor and not in the car!

They say things come in 3's. Wonder what I'll do next. Maybe, if my cold ever clears up, I can avoid the 3rd thing. :)
