January

To finish off Christmas vacation we went swimming on January 3rd with Catheys and Andy and Alex.

Had a fun time and afterward Catheys came over for pizza and games.

Mandatory get out of the pool time

On Sunday, January 5th, Jacob was given the Priesthood.  Jason ordained him and Bishop Martin and Randy were in the circle.  Mom came up for it also. There was such a strong spirit in the room.  Jacob is a great kid!

Afterward, Randy, MarySue and Mom came over for dinner.  Fun to visit with them.

On the 7th I went and did a Church welfare assignment at the Deseret Dairy.  We worked on cheese.  It was already made, but we cut and packaged it.  It was fun to do.  I wish I could have taken a picture!

Jason was in Richmond the week of the 13th and in Houston the week of the 20th.  He travels a bit more at the beginning of the year.
Jacob wanted to go to the temple as soon as we could, so on Friday, January 17th (no school day) Jason came home from work early and we took Jacob to do baptisms for the dead.  He found 4 names and did the work for them.

It was kind of crowded and took about 2 hours, but I know Jacob enjoyed doing it.

These pictures are after the baptisms.  Jason and Jacob were both happier than they look.

End of the month Jacob went on the scout Klondike camp out up at Camp Tracy.  He seemed to have a good time.  While he was gone Jason and I celebrated our 14th anniversary early since he will be out of town on the actual date, February 4th.  We went to see a movie and had dinner.  Had a good time.  Weird that it has been 14 years!!
