Funny How Others Do Their Laundry

When Jason and I got married each of us had done our own laundry for approximately 20 years. Needless to say, we developed habits on how we hang and fold our laundry. I do the laundry (Jason would if I asked him to) and have had to adapt my ways to his, when it comes to folding/hanging Jason's clothes.

Example #1 - Socks
I put them in pairs and fold the tops down.

Jason folds them in half, so the elastic doesn't get stretched out. My socks wear out in the heels before the elastic is stretched out.

Examle #2 - Underware
I fold the tops and bottoms together.

Jason folds the tops and bottoms seperately in 2 different piles. His tops need to be folded with the front out, sleeve folded back and then folded in half, very neatly.

Example #3 - Hanging clothes
When you look into our closet my shirts hang facing the entrance, or in my mind, they face forward.

When you look into our closet Jason's shirts hang facing the back wall, or in my mind, they face backward.

Example #4 - Pants
I fold my jeans with the zipper facing out. Otherwise the front of the pants sometimes don't lay flat when you go to wear them.

Jason folds his pants with the zipper inside the fold.

Example #5 - T-shirts
I don't have any pictures of this one.

I fold my t-shirts in half, push the sleeves back, and then fold in thirds. Since I really only wear the for exercising I don't care much if they are wrinkled.

Jason fold his t-shirts with the front folded out, sleeves folded back and then folded in half. Very neat.

Never ceases to amaze me that there is not even one item in the clothes folding/hanging area that we do the same. :)

The Beginning of the End...

(Summer 2009)

Last Thursday Jacob would not go down for a nap. I could tell he wasn't too tired when I tried to lay him down and an hour later he was still awake. Friday he did nap, but Saturday and Sunday--no naps.

Today I can tell he is tired, but it took him a while to settle down. Pros and cons to this...now if I need to do something in the afternoon we can do it. On the flip side, if I need to do something without him around (like read email) it is a bit more difficult.

Just when you think you've figured it all out--it changes. :)
