April

First weekend of April - General Conference.  As usual it was very good.  They announced a temple in San Jose, California.  Jason's family came over in between sessions on Sunday for lunch and we celebrated March, April and May birthdays.

Getting all of the paper work done at
the DMV
Trader Joe's has moved into the shopping area by us and their flowers are relatively cheap.  I love this arrangement.  Made me happy--hoping for spring to come!
A new driver!
On Monday of spring break we went to the DMV and Jacob got his learner's permit.

He drove home from the DMV and on the way stopped by Jaxon's house to show him the permit.  We took Jaxon home to hang out for the afternoon.

Jacob having lunch on Tuesday.
4 taquitos
1 PB & J sandwich
1 yogurt
1 bagel
1 slice of pizza
1 mandarin orange

This was part of Monday, mainly Tuesday's weather.  I used the snow blower in the morning and evening.  We got at least 8".  It felt like it was never going to end!!

On Wednesday afternoon we went to Airborne to jump, Jacob went to Cathey's and then I came over and we had dinner.  Jason was gone from Monday to Thursday of spring break.

Thursday I went to lunch with Natalie and Clark and in the afternoon the Cathey girls came over and we made cupcakes.

Jason got home on Thursday afternoon.  Saturday we went to Hale Center Theater with Erick and Adrienne to see the play Titanic.  It was very well done.  Jacob went to Jared and Stephanie's to dye Easter eggs.  After we picked him up we took him to Jaxon's for one last hurrah to end spring break.

Sunday was Easter and it was really good for me.  I sang in the choir and when we came home we did an egg hunt for Jacob.
I asked him if he wanted to still do it.  He said, if it means I get candy I will do it.  😅

He looked all over for the eggs and found most of them easily.  There were a couple that took some time.

He had to keep looking

We've even hidden eggs here before!

That afternoon we went over to Jared's for Easter dinner.  It was a beautiful day and after dinner the kids walked down to the park.  We also played Tenzi with Janette, Mylee, Grace, Emma and J & Emma's roommates.  Had fun!

I am putting these 2 pictures in because they are funny.  On Tuesday, April 11, this was the forecast...80 degrees with an avalanche warning.  😅
Then this Calvin and Hobbs--love it.  Math is a religion!!

On Saturday, April 15, Jason's cousin, Brent and his son Kenny, came to visit Randy and MarySue.  Brent is Roy and Vina's (Randy's sister) son.  They came over from Hawaii for a quick weekend trip to check out the University of Utah for Kenny next year.  He is deciding between the U Of U and University of Hawaii.  They said the campus here was newer and they liked it.  Kenny also has a friend attending who is finishing his freshman year.  It was so fun to meet them.  Brent reminds me of his parents--very friendly.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Working to fill sandbags. Jaxon, Tom, Morgan,
Addie, Wendy, Jacob, Ashlyn on side.

On Thursday, April 27, Jacob (Jenny's husband) graduated with his PhD. We went down to BYU for the graduation.  He has a job down in Houston with a medical lab.  They moved down at the end of June.  Jenny is happy to be moving on with their lives, but living so far away is going to be  hard.

On Saturday we went with the Catheys to the midvalley maintenance shed to help fill sand bags.  We worked for about an hour and a half and the kids did a great job.

As the work progressed the kids began to fool around.  Here Jason is "threatening" to cover Addie with sand.
Morgan's turn

By the end the kids were resting by the fence, but we got quite a bit done.

On to May!
