You'd Think He Was Accepted to Harvard, Yale, BYU....

Friday morning I was feeding Jacob. Every now and again I'll stick my finger in his mouth to see how his teeth are coming along. He hadn't gotten any yet--up until Friday morning. I had felt his gums on Thursday--nothing, but Friday he had sprouted his to front bottom teeth! I was so excited. I don't know why...I hadn't been thinking about it other than wondering when he'd get them, but when I felt them and saw them it was some sort of major mile stone in my mind....like he was going to college or something. I tried to call all the relatives, that I thought would be interested, to let them know.

It was just kind of funny to me how seeing and feeling the teeth turned it into a much more major mile stone than I had thought it would be. They are such cute teeth! :)

Do men blog? If not, why?

The Front 40 Acres

These days it seems that I do not have enough time to water (by hand) the dry spots in our lawn and it gets worse every year. When I first bought the house, 5 1/1 years ago, there were 1 or 2 dry spots--now it seems there are only 1 or 2 green spots.

For all the water we use, you'd think we'd have the greenest lawn on the block, but every year the coverage gets worse. I think we need to raise the sprinkler heads or buy a matching shade of green to spray paint the dry spots. Xerascaping is looking better all the time!

Why We have Kiddie Kandids

Last Saturday, Jacob's 5 month mark, I decided to take a picture. This is why we have Kiddie Kandids. I could not get him to smile more than once, or before he tipped over.

Jacob Eating Rice Cereal

His first bite.
Eating with Dad.

On July 22nd, Jacob ate his first rice cereal. Didn't think it was too thrilling, but ate it anyway...

He Keeps Growing

Jacob in April

I have lots of cute pictures I want to post, but here is a comparison in size we took using the bassinett a few weeks ago.

Blogging Again

Relaxing in our room. A little Cafe Rio for lunch...ahhh..the life.

Heidi releasing her pent up energy that she normally stores up in order to take care of 6 children. Without the children, she has to let it out somehow. We allowed her to be herself! :)

After our trip I have had a hard time finding time to get back to this. Anyway, our trip was very fun. As you can see from the pictures we ate well, saw some sites and had a great time together. Les Mis was wonderful!

A few days after the trip Joy, Heidi and I were talking about how we need to make this a yearly event, but stay 2 days next time. Jason overheard us talking and had a suggestion to add to the tradition...that we all take our first borns with us! :)

Starting A New School Year--In a Different Way

My old era...the last day of school, May 25, 2008; Jacob, my new era...

My cleaned out office, June 5, 2008

Today my fellow principals are attending the beginning of year administration meetings...and I'm not there. For the first time in 39 years, since I was 5, (minus the time on my mission) I am not starting a new school year. Seems strange in some ways.

All summer it has seem pretty normal that I was not working, but thinking about everyone starting back into it and I'm not there is a bit strange. I'm smart enough to know that there are some things I will not miss, but I will miss the association with the people. I'm just glad to have email to help keep in touch.

After 7 years, I'm not making decisions for Spring Creek. That is weird that another person is running "my" school! :)

The closing of one era and the beginning of another...

Girl's Night Out

Last night some friends got together for Girl's Night Out. Andrea organized it and it was so fun to see everyone! All of us have kids ages 5 or younger and are going through similar things. It was nice to get out and see friends!

How He Grows

Look at the difference between 4 months ago and today. They grow and change so fast!!
