Friends and Birthday Parties

Because Jacob is an only child I try to have friends over quite a bit. Some days it makes it easier for me (someone else is there to play with him rather than me) and some days it is a little more work than I planned for (3 year olds do not always agree on everything). Jacob has a variety of friends to play with. There are 11 boys in his Sunbeam class and they are all great kids.

Last week a friend came over and they were doing fine, but then one decided he wanted to play downstairs and the other wanted to play upstairs. They ended up upstairs in Jacob's room. Neither of them were very chatty about how to solve the problem. So I brought out the camera (originally because they both looked so funny like this) and it changed their attitude in minutes.
It was so funny!














Last Saturday Jacob was invited to 2 birthday parties. One in the morning at Jungle Jim's and the other in the afternoon at The Little Gym. I didn't get pictures of the afternoon, but he had a great time at both! After seeing them drive, I'm really glad they don't drive yet!!!

New Year

Happy New Year!!
For New Year's Eve we went over to Matt and Terri's house--a couple we knew from the singles ward. They got married about 8 months before we did and it was at their reception that Jason and I first held hands publicly. :) Jason is going to love that I added this little tidbit of information!

They had us and another couple over. Between us there were 6 little boys (under 5) and 1 little girl to play with. Jacob loved it. About 10 p.m. we pretended it was the New Year, went outside and did a few fireworks and then came back inside and drank sparkling cider. We had a really fun time!

During the break we also got a chance to see Tamsin and her daughter Emma. They moved about a year ago and came to visit her family for Christmas. It was so fun to see them. Here are a few pictures Jacob took.




Since then we've mainly been playing with friends.
