September

September began with a couple of projects.   I had attended a bread making class at the end of August and got a sour dough start.

I kept it fed and tried making bread, but it was sticky and did not rise well.  It was Ok.
This was on Saturday.  I mixed the bread on Friday night and baked it Saturday morning.

In the meantime....on Friday Jason and I got Jacob off to school and began priming our fence.  I had purchased rollers and paint brushes.  After a couple of hours we decided to buy a sprayer.  Made it SOOO much easier!!  We worked from about 7:30 a.m. and came in about 8 p.m.  Of course we spent time buying the sprayer, putting it together etc., but most time was working.  Spreading out plastic, moving plastic, spraying, moving plastic etc.  I did the spraying and Jason touched up with a brush.   I was exhausted!

On Saturday we were able to enlist the help of Jacob.  He did the spraying and we moved plastic etc.

It was so nice to have it done!  On Saturday we worked from about 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. (that included cleaning up).  IT IS DONE!  YAY!

I  was able to sneak away and have breakfast with the girls.  Good to see all of them.

On Tuesday, the 3rd,  Mom, Joy and I went to Lehi to see Brigitte Meyer.  She is 89 and lives with her son Chris and his family.  I have known her all my life.  She is has MS, but could hear and see us.  It was a good visit and fun to catch up.

I'm so glad we saw her when we did.  We were going to have them over for lunch at mom's on the 14th, but she ended up passing away that day.  Her funeral was about a week later, on the 25th (just before I flew to Arizona for Jessica's wedding).  I went to the viewing and saw Sylvia and Steve Schow, Gary Cornelsen, Russell French and Rhonda Day Meyer.  It was good to see people.

On Wednesday, Sept 4, Jason went in for a PVC (Premature Ventricular Contractions) ablation.  He went in and they did an EKG to check things before the procedure.  The EKG showed he was in AFib at that moment.  So they changed the procedure to an AFit ablation.  Dr. Nannapaneni performed the ablation and felt it went well. They recommended Jason get an apple watch to help monitor what his heart is doing in real time.  Jacob does a great impression of where his pain is now.  He stands, grabs his front pocket, where Jason keeps his wallet, and says, The pain!!.  It is funny!!

We got out of the hospital around 3:30 and headed home.  It is times like that that it is very helpful to have Jacob driving!

The next day Jacob got a bee in his bonnet and decided to buy a new radio for the 4 Runner.  He spent the next few days working on it, buying parts to help with the wiring and he got it done!  He did a good job and as long as he doesn't fiddle with it while he is driving he should be in good shape!

On the 14th I went to Hannah's (Elizabeth's daughter) soccer game and in the afternoon Jacob and I went to Christian's football game.  Afterwards he came over to play video games with Jacob.

On the 19th we had our Daddy Daughter Drive-In for Activity day.

The girls came with their dads and parked at the church by the kitchen.

We went out with a number that corresponded to their menu number and put it on the windshield.  We gave them the menu to fill out.  We also gave them a list of questions they could talk about.

Once menus were collected we went into the kitchen to fill the plates and took back out to the cars.

We then went into the Primary room for games.  We played "Cups" first.  The girls and their dads stood across a table from each other with a cup in between them.  I would tell them body parts to touch or things to do (eyes, chin, back,  jump on 1 foot etc), then I'd say Cups and first one to grab their cup won.  We played several rounds and it was fun to watch.

We then did the Oreo game.  Girls went first and then the dads.  They got an Oreo, put it on their forehead and had to move it down to their mouth without touching it.  The girls loved watching their dads do it!

We then went outside and did a 3 legged race.  The girls seemed to have fun.

For Mom's 85th birthday we tried to do a siblings trip with her to St. George.  We finally set a date of September 20-22.  Then Jessica got engaged so Kristina couldn't go.  Then Heidi had conflicts with Olivia and school and couldn't go.  We tried to figure out another weekend, but with Jessica's wedding being on the 26th it worked for Chris to fly in and be able to attend both without needed to fly twice.  Last minute Erick was unable to go because of his MS.

So Chris, Joy, Mom and I went down.  We left around 11:30 on Friday and drove down.
Got to our place and then Joy, Mom and I went to look at possible condos/townhomes that Jason and were considering for purchase.  They were nice, but are just too expensive to justify.

After looking we went to Crenshaw's Pies.  A pie place that was recommended to mom.  That late in the day they didn't have much to choose from and we got a lemon cream pie.  We then went to Panda Express and Zuppa's for take out.
While we thought the pie was good, we decided to go first thing the next day when they opened to try other pies.

The next day we got up and went to the Red Cliffs temple for an 8:15 endowment session.  Pretty temple.

After the temple we headed to Crenshaw's again, bought a German chocolate pie, a boysenberry pie and each of us got a chicken pot pie for lunch.  Those were really good and we do those again.

In the afternoon we sat and visited out on the balcony.  It was great weather!!

That night we got burgers for dinner (saved half for lunch the next day) and then went to see Jersey Boys at Tuachan.

It was a very good play.  Told a great story about the musical group, how it began and it's history.  I really liked it.  For the Tuachan theater this play did not showcase it's uniqueness.  I really there are only so many plays that can do that (have camels walk across the stage, have a team of horses and a wagon roll down the hill behind the stage and onto the stage.  So I missed that part, but the play was great.

We went to church on Sunday and came home that afternoon.  It was a fun time.

I was home for 3 days and on Wednesday evening flew with Joy, Matthew, and Chris to Arizona for Jessica's wedding the following day. We arrived at 7:30 p.m., went to the car rental place and got out of there by 9 p.m., drove to Gilbert, ran to a grocery store and got to our place at 10:30.  The rental was clean and nice.  Rooms all worked out.  Jennifer and Stephanie (with little David) flew in from Maryland that night too and joined us.

The next morning we went to Kristina's and hung out while Heidi finished alterations on the bridesmaid dressed and the girls got Jessica ready for her 4:30 p.m. wedding.

Heidi, Kaylene and Amber

We went back to our place to change and head over to the wedding by 4 p.m.  It was in Apache Junction and had 2 halls.  One for the marriage and one for the reception.

The wedding began and first the "Ring Grandpa's" came down the isle.  Then the groomsmen and bride's maids, followed by the "flower grandmas."  Mom was towards the front and began throwing petals on the ground (as you do) and then began tossing them into the crowd.  It was so funny!

Then Jessica came down the isle and their Stake President married them.  It was all so nice!

After the wedding was the cocktail hour while the bridal party and family took pictures in the wedding hall.
This was the reception hall before the wedding

They had this cute time line

After the cocktail hour the bride and groom made the grand entrance.  They came in at the end of the hall, walked up between the tables where we were seated (now standing as they came in), music was playing and when they got to the front table there were dry fireworks firing off at each end of the table.  I got a video of that, but missed the fireworks with the picture.  It was quite amazing and fun!!
We then had a delicious dinner of salad, carrots, chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce and rolls.  It was very good.

They then did toasts, the first dance, the groom/mom dance and the bride/dad dance.  Then the loud everyone dancing began and we could munch on bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  So good!

It got too loud after a while so some of us took chairs out onto the patio to watch through the doors and listen.  The whole things was really fun and a great time!!
The next morning, Friday, we were at the temple by 8:30 for their 9 a.m. sealing.  The sealer did such a great job and talked about things in such a way that you could tell he had really studied it.  It was a beautiful sealing and a perfect ending to the wedding celebrations!

After the sealing and pictures we went to change and then to Kristina's for lunch with everyone.  It was nice to meet Keith's family...to talk and visit.  Here is a picture of mom with baby David.  He was such a great baby!  So easy going.  I think this picture is so funny!

After we cleaned up and people left, we changed into our swim suits and hung out at the pool.  It was so nice and warm!  Keith and Jessica stayed too.  They left around 4 p.m.

We went to our condo about 9 p.m. and came over the next day before we left for the airport.  It was such a fun weekend with fun activities!  Jessica was beautiful and Keith is such a great guy!  So happy for them!
When I got home Jacob had purchased a $600 1993 Toyota Celica.  He is financing through the bank of Mom and Dad.  It is a fixer upper with leaks.  His goal is to get it running (the battery drains), then fix it up.  Should be a good project for him.

Monday morning I came out to run errands and found this.  Ugh!  Luckily we had leftover sawdust that we had gone to my friend Dave's workshop to get so we could suck up paint water.  I put some on the pan to suck up the overflow and then put baking soda on the cement.  Jacob worked on it and thinks he has the leaks fixed.  On to why the battery drains.
