November

Jacob, I want to include this in our blog to remind all of us that prayers are answered--even small ones.

On the first Friday Jacob and I went to get the oil changed in the 4 Runner.  It took forever and Jacob needed to get to work.

We left the shop with Jacob driving and me holding the paperwork.  He also handed me the spare key, which I tucked into the paperwork.  We got home, Jacob dropped me off and headed to work.

That night we were looking for the key and couldn't find it.  Jacob said he remembered giving me the key, I could not remember that.  He went out to the 4 Runner to look and did not find anything.  Then the 3 of us went out to look and found nothing.  Jason went back in the house and I told Jacob, let's get in the car and recreate what happened in the afternoon.  I also suggested that we say a prayer first.  We then began our roll play...

...Getting into the car, I climbed in, Jacob said, there is grease on this door handle, I said, Oh look, here is a blue paper towel you can use.  He wiped the door handle and got in.  Then we talked about driving home.  At that point I remembered that when he dropped me off he didn't pull into the driveway, but rather along the sidewalk and I got out in the road.  I walked over to the road in front of the driveway and there was the key!!  Heavenly Father had helped me remember what I had forgotten earlier--I had gotten out in the road.

We still had to put in the work to look for the key, but when we asked for help Heavenly Father helped me remember a part I had forgotten.  Prayers are answered.

The next day, Saturday, we worked on gathering leaves...with the 80 degree weather in October the leaves have been slow to begin falling.  That night Jason and I went with Ben Ahyou, his sister, Penina, Cory and Tori (from the cruise last year), Elias and Teneya to Alcatraz...and escape room.  We had done one with Ben, Andrea, Cory and Tori in 2024, before the cruise, to get to know each other (Cory and Tori).  This room was much better and more fun!  Afterwards we took Elias to McDonalds to meet up with Jacob for dinner and the rest of us went to Tuk Tuks.  Yummy food!

We escaped!!

For YM/YW they did line dancing.  They invited the Stake so there would be more kids.  Jacob said it was pretty good.
Dancing with Emmie Hobbs

After 40 years, the ear muffs I used in College broke.  I ordered new ones and these said do not order if you have a small head--I do not have a small head and they fit perfectly!  Love them.

This week has been interesting with family health.  On Monday, Nov 11, MarySue took Randy to the ER.  They thought he was having a heart attack.  They gave him morphine and checked him over.  By afternoon his numbers were good and he was back home.  MarySue had major surgery on Oct 28 that she is still healing from (gall bladder, hernia and gastric bypass).  She has fallen and broken her ribs several time and are going to do surgery and place "braces" on her ribs to protect them.  This will be Nov 26.  Hopefully that will help.

Randy turned out to be OK.  The Dr felt it was anxiety.  MarySue did not end up having rib surgery.  The Dr. suggested more healing time and see if that helps rather than undergoing another surgery.

Its funny because every now and then people will drive up and ask, or leave notes like this, asking if we want to see the 4 Runner.
Pumpkin roll for Thanksgiving

Chris and most of his family (Amy/Chris and kids, Mallory/Jon, Garrett/Amber) were at mom's for Thanksgiving.

Kristina and all of her kids (except for Conner--on a mission and Brook--headache) were at mom's

Joy, Matthew and Ryan were at mom's too.  We all had a good time visiting and eating.  At the end Jacob and Ryan gave an impromptu performance for us.

Jason wanted to hike up to the suspension bridge.  I'm fine once we're on level ground, but I genuinely do not like the hike UP!  It is a pretty view once you're up there.

When we got home we put up our Christmas stuff.
