October

October has been busy.  The beginning of the month was spent cleaning mom's house to get it on the market.  Kristina, Shane and Heidi did the lion share of the work.  I went over to help clean moldings, baseboards, a bathroom, walls etc.  It was exhausting!  Shane is a miracle worker in fixing holes, and touching up paint all over the house.

The house went up on Wednesday, October 15.

Today is the 16th and for whatever reason it is a hard day for me.  We all took a lot of stuff from the house, but there were still things that we just didn't have room for and had to give away, sell or DI.  Today, at the gym, I began to think about the headboard dad made for their bed.  It was beautiful, but no on had space.  I'm so sad I couldn't take it.  It is just a headboard, but today it makes me sad.

Jacob is doing so well in school.  He is taking CTEC (Canyons Technical Education Center) and doing Cyber Security.  He is also taking concurrent enrollment in English and Math.  Math is hard, but he is so capable.  While I know he doesn't like it he keeps his head down and works hard on it.  He is a great kids and we are so lucky to have him.  I think he'll like college.  I know there will be adjustments, but once he settles in I think it will go well.

On the 17th we took Randy and MarySue to Hale Theater.  We had given them tickets last Christmas.  The play was The Musical Comedy of Murders of 1940.  It was well done, but didn't love the story.  What was amazing was the set was done in grey tones, the clothes were done grey, the face makeup was grey...so the whole thing looked like a black and white TV show style.  It was quite amazing how they did it.

That Sunday was Mylee's mission farewell.  She gave such a great talk in Sacrament meeting!

Afterwards we went to Jared's for brunch.

n Thursday we started fall break!  We drove down to Utah Technical University and had Lilly with us.  We toured the campus in the afternoon and it is a very pretty place.  I would love to have that type of campus, but I'm not sure I think of it as a strong school...if that makes sense.

practice hill.

We met Jared and family at the condo when we
were done.  We changed clothes, went to the
temple where the kids did baptisms and I did
initatories.  Afterward we had dinner and went
swimming at the big indoor pool.

Friday morning we got up early and
headed to Zions...arriving at 8 a.m.
It was chilly.

We first hiked to the Emerald pool...
I went back at that point and the rest
continued on to the Upper Emerald
pool.  Stephanie started, but came back
and sat with me at Zion Lodge.

After the Emerald Pool we went took
the bus up to the Temple of Sinawava.
The hike is a mile up and back.  It
ends at the river...during the summer
that is such a great ending
destination!  You are usually so hot!

The weather was cool all morning, but
when we were done and got to the car
it was nice and warm.

When we got home we went swimming (they joined us after talking to Mylee on her P-day), had dinner and hung around.

Friday we went to the Brigham Young house.

In the afternoon we went kayaking at Quail Creek Reservoir.  We all had a lot of fun!

Sunday we went to church at a local ward...they had their primary program and it was good.

We went back to our place, packed up and headed home.  I was not ready to come back, but we had a good time!
