Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 77th birthday! He is a great father and has always set such a good example of how a person should live. He always worked hard to support his family and loves to have fun!

His motto is "Do a little something everyday that you enjoy" and he does. When he taught school (he taught art) he had his own projects he would work on a little bit each day. At home he works in the yard each day to keep it beautiful. Then there are his daily naps and The Price is Right that he enjoys. :)

He loves to do projects with the grandkids and loves having them around.


Dad is always supportive of his children you know he'll always be there for you.


Jacob and I have been able to stay with mom and dad when Jason goes out of town and we love our visits with him.

Thanksgiving

We had a such a fun time (not exciting--that one is for you Kristina) visiting Kristina and her family in Arizona last week for Thanksgiving!

The drive went well. We left at 4 a.m. going and coming so that Jacob would be alseep for part of the trip (it took about 12 hours). He did SOOO well! Really was not fussy until the last half hour or so.

We also had a great time eating. We went through 6 pumpkin pies, 2 lemon and 1 pecan pie! When it was all said and done we were tired....as you can see Kristina and Dad show it all!

Do you ever have a weak moment? I ate my lunch (like you should) before I went to the grocery store, but alas, the CHOCOLATE Snack Pack pudding was calling my name (not to mention it was a good buy at $1).

Have you ever wondered...

...how pioneer women had a baby AND washed clothes by HAND....kept a dirt floor clean, cooked meals over an open fire without buring it? How did they do it--were the babies crying all the time because mom didn't have time to feed them with everything else she had to do (by hand)? I have to work at cooking with a microwave and washing with a machine.

Then the women of the fifties...did they really do everything in the dress that cinched in at the waist and flaird out (like the dresses on I Love Lucy)? I like the look, but prefer my jeans and sweats. :)

Yes, I do carry my camera around in my purse--EVERYWHERE I go. You never know when that "cute" shot will appear and you HAVE to be ready!!

We have a Primary activity coming up and I needed to buy marshmellos. Jacob is too big to carry, so the stroller is great for smaller shopping trips...but the marshmellos would not fit under the stroller....I had Jacob help me.
