April

Easter weekend was also General Conference weekend this year.  As usual, General Conference was very good!

Saturday afternoon, between the afternoon and priesthood sessions, we went over to Hatch's for an Easter egg hunt and dinner.  We have done this before and had a good time.

Easter morning Jacob got up to look for his basket.

After the afternoon session, Mom, Dad, Jessica, Parker, Malia (the rest of the Brady's were in California for vacation--Parker and Malia had classes), Michael, his girlfriend Liberty, Elizabeth and Nathan came for dinner.  Had a good time.

With Easter came spring break.  I try to do something everyday so Jacob had someone to play with or something to do, so we aren't sitting just watching TV or playing the iPad.

On Monday, Avery came over, on Tuesday we went to Airbourn, the trampoline place, with James to jump.

On Wednesday, it was raining and we went with Natalie and her Jacob to The Leonardo for the day.

On Friday, Jason was home and we went to 7 Peaks in Lehi to play.

Jacob loves the "Frog."

Then he and Jason went out on the water driving boats and getting each other wet (it was a little too cool for me to want to get wet).

After the boats, Jason and Jacob climbed up and jumped!

After jumping and a couple of other rides we went in to do laser tag before we left to go home.

We arrived home and Chase asked if we wanted to go finishing with them.  So Jacob and I ate lunch and then drove with Brenda and kids to one of the splash pads that has a pond nearby to go fishing.  Jacob did a great job putting a live worm on his hook!  I couldn't do it!!

Busy and fun week!

With Jacob starting first grade I was able to add going to the temple once a week to my routine.  I called it (as Kristina does) Temple Tuesday.  Part of going every week enabled me to see the different plantings they do. In the fall I saw how MANY bulbs planted for the spring and it was so worth it!  The flowers were beautiful!

We also celebrated Mom's 76th birthday.  We had dinner at Heidi's and afterwards she opened several sets of towels.

At the end of April I was able to fly to Phoenix to see Kristina and family.  Brook was getting home from her mission to the Phillipines, Baugio mission.  She looked so good!

I arrived Friday morning and that afternoon we went shopping to try and find Brook some new clothes for her homecoming talk on Sunday.  I am not a shopper and after a few hours Jessica and I kept each other company in the van.  :)

On Saturday morning we got up and lounged poolside.  They have a beautiful pool, but it wasn't quite warm enough for me to want to swim.

Saturday afternoon we visited while Jessica and Brook went shopping again.

Sunday morning we got up and ready for church and to hear Brook speak.

After church we came home for an open house with dinner.  One fun part was to see Donna and Michael Holtum.  Our family has known Donna's family for 50 years.  We grew up together.

One of the cool things they did was a mural on their wall behind the pool.  It was so well done!!

Jacob's 7th Birthday

Time goes so quickly!  On March 23rd Jacob turned 7.  Cannot believe he is that old!!

A few weeks before  his birthday he told us he wanted these little flags stuck into marshmallows all over his room when he woke up.  I don't know where he got that from, but I went to the internet, printed some up, glued on toothpicks and we stuck them in marshmallows.

Waking up

Hopefully is what he wanted.
We told him  he could invite a friend to dinner (it was a school night).  So he invited James Tullis.  We also had Grandma and Grandpa Wong there too.

We ate poppy seed chicken for dinner and afterwards opened presents.

One of the gifts he liked the most was his wireless mouse for his computer.
Bike gloves

After opening presents we went to the library. They were playing Big Hero 6...which Jacob loves.  It was a fun day with a fun boy!

About Time for a New Post!

2015 has begun!  End of January I had strep throat for the third time since the beginning of December!  Took meds again until Feb. 10.  So far, so good.

We  spent most Saturday mornings in January watching this.

Jacob, Eli, James, Ryan, Crew Bear

Jacob plays with some boys from our ward and he is getting better.  He even attempted a basket this season!

In February Jason and I were married 9 years.  Our anniversary falls 10 days befoe Valentine's Day and we decided several years ago that we would celebrate our anniversary and not worry about V day.  Jason brought home this:  Yum!

We went out to dinner that weekend.

This past weekend I celebrated 51 years of life.  It is funny...when I turned 25, 40, 50, the major mile stones, I wasn't bothered by the number.  When I was 26 and now again at 51 I  just do not like the number.  I don't know if it is because it is the year after the big birthday and I am not just saying, "Wow, I made it to this year and look good."  I am saying, "Wow, I am that old and getting older!"  "A-a-a-a-gh!"  Who knows.

I did have a nice day.  In the morning I went to breakfast with friends I have known 20+ years.
Linde, LeAnn, Margaret
Brenda Judy

Then Jason, Jacob and I went to see the movie, Penguins of Madagascar.

Unfortunately this weekend was a caselot sale and we needed cases of food for food storage.  So we went shopping and then packaged chicken.

After we went to my Mom and Dad's for dinner.  That was fun and we celebrated Jacob's birthday too.

I need to get better at taking pictures again.  With Jacob gone to school all day it seems a bit boring to take pictures of house cleaning.  :)

On to Jacob's official birthday, Easter, Spring Break, etc!
