October

October began with State golf finals for Ryan.  I met Joy and Matthew in Saratoga Springs and walked 18 holes watching him.  He didn't do as well as he would have liked, but he did much better than I would have.

At hole 9 Kristina and Heidi joined us for the fun!

Each year they hold a STEM Festival at the Expo Center.  We go with Catheys and walk around seeing the demos etc.  This year one of the session presenters was the "What's Inside" father and son team from Youtube.  Jacob loves watching them so it was a highlight for him to meet them in person.  They are from Utah and about 4 years ago, when the son had a science project, they did it on what is inside things.  They put it on Youtube and it took off.

I am trying to teach Jacob some different life skills.  So he helped me put together one of his favorite meals--Poppy seed Chicken.

In October, for fall break, we met Debbie Kirby and her kids and went to Blackhills Farm.  It was (in my opinion) kind of the poor man's version of Cornbellys.
Waiting for the turkey races
While it wasn't as large as Cornbellys the kids still had fun.

This was the corn box. Still loved it.

The next day we met at Gardner Village.  The amazing thing is the first day it was 70 degrees.  The next day, at Gardener Village we needed coats.

For October's Scout Pack Meeting we did a Rain gutter Regatta.  It was really fun!

The weather had been so un-winter like we were able to take a Sunday afternoon walk at the end of the month.

Our new neighbor came over to play darts.

Nice aim!!

September

Lemon Raspberry Layer Cake - a light, moist lemon cake with lemon curd filling and raspberry frosting! So light, sweet, tart and the perfect dessert for summer!
We started the month with having Karen over to dinner.  Here is her cake.  Sad sight.  It was a Pinterest fail.  Here is what it was supposed to look like.
Amazing how they look so similar!  Tasted fine, but looked awful.

Jared wanted to go up into the canyon on Labor Day for breakfast.  Because of a Half Marathon in the Fort Union area we couldn't get up the canyon.  So we settled for a park and had a good time.

Jacob and Jason chillin'--I must have been gone.

Draper Elementary's annual Fun Run.  Each grade level races in heats of boys and girls.  At the end those who want to run a mile.  Jacob decided to try it this year and did a great job!

He was tired at the end, but he kept up and liked it!

Jason wanted to organize the garage.  He put up boards to hang Jacob's toys and some shelves for the ski stuff.
When we got married we received this set of glasses.  I found a box with 2 unused glasses inside.  It was amazing to see the difference 12 years in the dishwasher can make on the glass.  I loved using 1 of the 2 "like new" glasses.  Jason doesn't get it.

MarySue's mom has an apple tree.  They went and picked this tub full of apples.  They were good, but it was a lot to use!

Dinner with Jared and Stephanie.

Jaxon Nef and Jacob
Cornbelly's 2017.  We had a school day off at the end of September so we went with Nefs, Ahyous, Jensen's and Catheys.  Spent the day there and had fun.

The corn tent is always a hit!

They had a obstacle course.

The Bee Line.  Andrea, Wendy and I went together.

We did the corn maze.
Jacob loves the giant bounce pillow.
