June has begun and our strawberry patch is thriving! It was originally out by our shed, but the neighbor planted a tree and there was not enough sun for them. I moved them to the side yard several years ago, by the silver birch tree, as ground cover. Here is a beginning of year picture with the old fence and strawberries.

Draper City has concerts in the park on Wednesday nights. We have gone to a few of them and had a good time!
June has been hot! On a Friday afternoon we met up with Catheys and went to the Dimple Dell pool.
Afterward, Jaxon came home with us for dinner and the rest of the Catheys came over for s'mores a little later. Ashlyn came up with the brilliant idea of putting plastic bags over our hair so it didn't smell like smoke afterwards!!

Growing up in Redwood City we had a GREAT ward. We were friends, had fun ward activities, road shows, YM/YW...we just had great friendships. That was my biggest surprise when I moved into the family wards in Utah. Everyone has a lot of family around and so they don't bond or seem to need the friendship of the ward.
Our bonds with the Redwood City 1st Ward last to today. A girl I grew up with, Marlyce Heward, was up here visiting her mom, Jean (who is 97),who moved here in 2021 with her husband Elmer, who passed away in 2023.
She contacted me and asked if we could all get together. I called mom, Lynne Stefan, and Joy and we met at Lynne's home on a Saturday afternoon to visit and catch up. It was so fun to see everyone!! It was like very little time had passed. We've all changed and gotten older, but the friendship remains. I love these people.

The next day I went to the annual Orson Gygi Grill fest. I have gone the past few years and really enjoyed it. This year was good, but not as good as other years. I'm in the front with the pony tail and purple shirt.

Happy Father's Day! I got up early to make pies for dinner and for our ward. The ward celebrates Father's Day just after 2nd hour and we provide pies for the dads to enjoy (then we all join in). I made a lemon meringue pie, then marinated the meat for dinner and made breakfast for Jason--bacon, hashbrowns and eggs.
After church we opened presents.

I didn't get pictures, but Randy, MarySue and Karen came over for dinner. It was a busy, but pleasant day.
On Thursday, the 19th, the YM left for High Adventure camp. They left at 7 a.m. and headed south to the St. George temple to do baptisms for the dead around noon. Afterwards they changed clothes and headed to hike Kanaraville Falls. We did that with Catheys and Nefs back in 2017. It is a beautiful place.
They then headed back up to Cedar City to the Bishop's family cabin. They hung out, played games etc. Friday morning they headed out to Bryce Canyon to hike around, had lunch and headed back to the cabin. (I'm going off the little bit I know here--very few details). Saturday morning they went fishing, cleaned the cabin and came home around 3 p.m. Jacob seemed to have had a good time.
While he was gone Jason and I had a TON of fun tearing down our basement closet. UGH!!
Back in April we began to smell something. We pulled up the carpet and discovered water had been leaking and rotting the carpet tack boards. I called a foundation place to see what they thought.
The basement closet is right under our front porch. When we did the cement patio and poured the second step last summer we're wondering if something happened.
They came out and looked and since you can't see what is happening below the stoop he recommended putting up a water barrier, sup pump in the floor of the closet and a line out of the closet on the basement floor, out to the east wall for drainage of the pump. Again--UGH! Does the fun every end?
We decided to do it even though it was a lot of money. We wanted it fixed. After the guy left we thought about it more and decided to put a fan down there and keep an eye on it.

But the following day the water was returning. Jason felt up behind the dry wall and found water condensation on the plastic.
We decided that water was somehow coming through, condensing and then dripping down the 2x4's.
We decided that there would never be enough water to activate a pump so we decided to go the less invasive route first and have the cracks above ground sealed. We then tore out all of the dry wall so we could see more of what might be going on.
After we went out to dinner.

Saturday night we left Jacob home and we went to the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo.
We joined Kristina and family, Chris and family (here for Garrett's wedding) and mom. It was pretty fun!

They had mutton busting with little kids riding sheep. The had bucking broncos, calf tying, barrel racing. It was amazing to see what could be done! I'm glad we went.
Had to throw this in. I was making bacon for dinner salad and had already taken a shower. Did not want my hair to smell so I used Ashlyn's bag idea. Worked well!
Tuesday, June 25th was Garrett's wedding. He and Amber are a cute couple! They were married in the Saratoga Springs temple.

They had the wedding lunch and reception at a reception place--Walker Farms in Lindon. It was a cute place and we had a good time.
