He now is showing more signs of independence. We went to Festival of Trees this morning. Lots to see and great tress! But Jacob was not really happy about being in the stroller. He'd sit for a while and then tell me, "Out, out, out." But there is no way I could chase him with the stroller all over the Festival. When the trees did not distract him he was not happy being strapped in.
Which means I think I'll need to move to a backpack rather than a purse. If I can't keep him in the stroller or cart I need hands free to chase him around...all the while trying to look like the Mother In Control of Her Toddler Who is Running Around (who is in charge here anyway?). :) Learing that you should never say "never." :)

I'm seriously thinking about a harness. My friend just told me they look like little backpacks..I'll have to go see. FUNNY, but so true!
Yeah, good times. I still say, just wait until Jason gets home and then you go run errands! YOu really might just enjoy the alone time too!
p.s. that was me...Kristina!
Yeah, it's really fun shopping with a toddler. Olivia is finally to the point where we aren't chasing her. I'm with Kristina, wait til Jason gets home and then go out and get your stuff done. It's not worth the fight.
I am so glad I am not alone on this one!
I, too, try to look like the "Mother who is trying to control her running around toddler", but the truth is....I'm never in control. The 2 year old holds all the cards.
Yeah, never is a long time!
Uhh, you saw how much control I had at Festival of Trees and I'm sure the fact that you were chasing yours and mine didn't help the situation! Hopefully you'll still talk to us. The leash works wonders by the way.
