With a blog there is no catching up to do, but rather you have things in common you can talk about automatically. It's like you were never really apart for very long.
I think someone said that a blog (for women at least) is kind of like and electronic front porch. We meet everyday (at our own convience), sit around and visit, filling each other in on our lives, how our kids are doing and any other random thought that floats through our heads. :)

Thanks for sharing my electronic front porch....sit down and relax. I enjoy the friendships.

I know. I LOVE blogs. I got to catch up on peoples lives and so when I go to Utah every summer I know everything that has gone over the whole year! I mean and it does not even cost money like a phone does!
Hey, I really like that phrase! I would be thrilled if my siblings, which all live across the country, would blog. I wouldn't feel so disconnected.
Yep, Blogs are pretty much amazing! :) btw- I posted AGAIN! I am on a role!:)
Linde, you have a magical way with words! I love the front porch scenario. Would love to have that front porch as well. I do miss our get togethers, but I am happy to read your blog and see Jacob growing and I'm glad I can sit with you on your porch at 10:30pm and not feel guilty about it :)
What a perfect analogy Linde. I feel like I've known "who" you are for years, but not, "who you are." And through blogging I'm finding out what I've missed all these years! You're great!
My friend Tammy and I were just talking about this the other day. We haven't seen eachother since the fall, but it felt much shorter than that because of the blogs.
That is the perfect simile (spelling?--I've been out of school too long!)
I love blogging for the same reasons. And I love that through comments, friends can connect. I am so much closer with my friends and family who blog than I am with those who don't.
I love that I can ask for feedback or share thoughts and have others validate me or just say "I understand." I think for mom's being home all day can be a bit lonely but blogging has given me a hobby/passion that helps me connect.
Very well said!! Love your picture of the porch. I have always wanted a porch with rocking chairs---well now I really do have a porch with rocking chairs--would love to have you sitting with me on my porch rocking away and chatting! But, I guess peeking in on your blog here and there will have to do! :)
I totally agree, but I am finding it hard to keep up during the summer. Don't you agree?
I love your new haircut, by the way. You really look so cute!
And...good job on weaning Jacob off of the bottle. It's never easy! It's funny because kids really do forget what you did/do to them, but we continue to remember.
I forgot to say that my mom made Elizabeth's birthday cake. It was SO GOOD! And yes that was a fondant bow.
Very true. Very cute post!
Please update!! i updated!
Congrats on your new calling--I knew it would be you and I am thrilled. Your new presidency looks awesome. I'm so happy for my kids that they will have such wonderful people in Primary!
I love this analogy! It is fun stopping by your electronic front porch...now we need to get together for real :)
