Tunes in My Head

Sometimes at night do you have a hard time falling alseep? Maybe it is becuase you are thinking of a problem you have or all you have to do...or maybe there is a tune in your head that just won't go away?

The past few weeks Jacob has had a hard time sleeping. He cries out 4-5 times a night. He is not awake and goes back to sleep, but it wakes me up. Jason says I have ears that would qualify me for Wonder Friends. I would be Wonder Ear Girl.
Would I have to exercise to have a body like this?

Well, after Wonder Ear Girl hears her Wonder Baby cry out, she can't fall back asleep because she has tunes going through her head. Radio tunes you may ask? Chicago, REM, Beatles, Josh Groban???? No, I have "When You're Happy and You Know It", "Wheels on the Bus", "Pop Goes the Weasle", etc. from Jacob's music CD we listen to everyday.

I obviously don't get enough of my own radio time. :)

LOL!!! You are so funny! Neal has been waking up this week too. Crazy. Thanks for the laugh, Wonder Girl. I think that when we become mothers our ears are tuned to our children, sometimes I think I hear Spencer calling out in the night and he's downstairs!! May you get some sleep, think "lullaby and good-night, go to sleep little baby..."

Who says a baby wouldn't enjoy mixing it up a bit? How about some Groban?

I remember those sleepless nights. So hard!

Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep, but I do love the tunes that go through your head! Such fun and uplifting songs.

I hate it when that happens! I agree with Inez and I'm the same way. Believe me, the mom's-a-light-sleeper syndrome never ends either. Well, I'm not sure yet because I'm not an empty-nester. Time will tell. The up-side is that the frequency you get awakened at night will decrease. And just feel lucky that "Barney" is not popular anymore (my oldest had a facination w/Barney, uuuggh)!!! But I like to think I'm the princess and the pea, only without the pea:0)

Ha ha, that is hilarious! Not the waking up part, but the songs that run in your head. I am like you - I have super hearing and wake at everything. Makes for a long night! Hope Jacob starts waking less so you get some more deep sleep!

We thought we were the only ones going through the waking up at night. I constantly struggle to get back to sleep. Ugh!! I keep thinking we're going to turn a corner with Connor, but we haven't....yet.

And yes...the songs are permanently stuck. This week it's: M-I-C-K-E-Y....M-O-U-S-E (the version from Disney Playhouse)

Oh, that is so funny! I usually can't fall asleep because I have a book in my head!

And if you get a body like that for your good ears, can I have one for my good nose?! I think I was a hound dog in a previous life. :)

When I was a teen-ager my friend was the oldest in her family and whenever I rode in her car, the baby music was playing. I swore that when I was a mom I would never let the kids have their music on in the car. Now that is all we listen to--and during Halloween it is Halloween music and at Christmas it is kid's Christmas music. I don't even know what is on adult radio these days. But it keeps them quiet and happy in the car--so worth it. Hope you get some sleep soon!
